FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS FOR JEE MAINS
Q1. What is the difference between JEE Main and JEE Advanced?
JEE Main is conducted for candidates aspiring for B.Tech courses offered in NITs, IIITs, and other CFTIs. It is also an eligibility test for candidates preparing for JEE Advanced, which eventually leads to admission to IITs. The students can appear for JEE Main three consecutive times; however, JEE Advanced can be taken only for two consecutive years.
Q2. What are the new exam dates for JEE Main 2025 sessions?
JEE Main 2025 sessions will be conducted January and April. The first session will be conducted in January 2025. On the other hand, the second session will be held in April 2025. Final dates are yet to announce.
Q3.When will NTA release JEE Main 2025 Admit Card for the upcoming session?
JEE Main Admit cards for the 2025 session will be released by the National Testing Agency on the official website after the applications are completed. Successfully registered candidates can download JEE Main Admit card from nta.ac.in or jeemain.nta.nic.in. on the specified dates.
Q4. Is NCERT important for the JEE Main?
JEE Main syllabus is mapped as per the topics covered in NCERT textbooks. Every year, around 35% to 40% of questions in JEE Main are picked directly from the concepts covered in NCERT books.
Q5. What should I do to get admission to an IIT?
The students are granted admission to IITs, NITs, and GFTIs based on the marks scored in JEE Main. For admission to IIT colleges, students must clear the JEE Advanced exam. The top 2.50 lakh students who qualify for JEE Main will be eligible for JEE Advanced.
Q6. How many attempts are granted for the JEE Main?
JEE Main 2025 will be conducted in two sessions. The students can attempt any number of sessions.
Q7. Can I change my paper appearing mode from Hindi to English?
The option of language for question paper should be exercised while filling out the application form online, and it cannot be changed at a later stage.
Q8. How to apply for the JEE Main 2024?
Students can apply for the JEE Main 2025 by visiting the official website of NTA: jeemain.nta.nic.in. However, it is mandatory to check the eligibility criteria for JEE Main before submitting the application.
Q9. Can I apply for two sessions together in JEE Main 2025?
No. In the first session, only Session 1 will be visible, and candidates can opt for that. In the next session, Session 2 will be visible, and the candidates can opt for that session.
Q10. Is it mandatory to appear for all the sessions of the JEE Main exam?
No, it entirely depends on the choice of the candidate. They can opt for either one or both attempts. In case they have appeared for all the exams, the better scores will be taken into consideration.
Q11. Is the syllabus of JEE Main and JEE Advanced the same?
No, there are several differences in the syllabus of JEE Main and JEE Advanced. There are a lot of topics included in JEE Main but excluded in JEE Advanced and vice-versa. Topics like Electromagnetic Waves, Electronic Devices, and Communication Systems are included in JEE Main but excluded from the JEE Advanced syllabus.
Q12. I uploaded the wrong photo in my JEE Main application form. What should I do?
No corrections will be permitted after the form has been submitted.
Q13. I got a “Transaction Failed” message while paying the application fee online, but the money was deducted from my account. What should I do?
This might occur due to some technical errors with the payment network, and the amount will most likely be refunded within 7 to 10 working days. Therefore, candidates coming across such a situation must pay the application fees again
